Homemade Soap-So EASY& ONLY $.10 To Make

My husband is a Food Scientist and one of the jobs that Food Scientists are hired to do is make generic versions of name brand products that are either close to or equal to the original product. One of the money saving generic products he’s made for the past year or so is foaming hand soap.

He takes our old foaming soap dispensers, fills them about one-fourth full with refill hand soap and fills it slowly to the top with water, being careful not to shake it up. He turns it over and over slowly to mix the soap and water, and viola; we have a 10 cent refill of our foaming hand soap.

There are a number of other “homemade” versions of products that you can typically find around our house at any given time. This definitely is a frugal way to live and has saved our family lots of time and money. With that being said, please comment on this blog or in the forum (if you are a member) and share with everyone some of the homemade generic products that you typically make for your family to save time and money, or just share some of the clever things you have done to make life easier. We are always looking for new ideas, and this allows other people viewing this site to benefit from your resourcefulness.
